Rahul Gandhi, a prominent Congress MP and the Leader of the Opposition, addressed the ‘Vote Adhikaar Rally’ in Bengaluru’s Freedom Park on Friday. The rally was convened to protest accusations against the Election Commission, focusing on claims of repeated voting and improper vote counting. The event also saw the presence of key figures, including Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy, DK Shivakumar. Gandhi stated that the party’s actions were driven by a commitment to defend the constitution. He underscored the constitutional rights of every individual, particularly the right to vote. He pointed to the Maharashtra assembly elections, following Lok Sabha polls, where the BJP won after a surge in new voters. Gandhi also highlighted the alleged creation of over one lakh fake votes in the Mahadevapura Assembly segment, linking this to electoral manipulation. He accused the Election Commission of assisting the BJP, alleging that these actions facilitated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s victory. During a press conference in Delhi, Gandhi presented what he termed ‘criminal evidence’ of the fraud. Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah supported Gandhi’s claims, highlighting the need to safeguard the electoral process.
