In a collaborative effort to uplift the lives of tribal children, NSTFDC and Coal India are partnering to create 76 new Eklavya Model Residential Schools. The MoU signed between the two organizations signifies a commitment to providing improved educational opportunities and holistic development for approximately 30,000 students. The initiative was attended by key government figures, including Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram and Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy.
Coal India, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, will contribute 1200 computers, 1200 UPS units, and 110 tablets to the schools. Additionally, the project includes the provision of 420 sanitary pad vending machines, 420 sanitary pad incinerators, and career counseling and mentorship programs for over 6200 students in grades 10 and 12. The total funding allocated by Coal India for this project is 10 crore rupees.
