The judicial commission examining the MUDA scam has given Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his family a clean chit, according to Minister H.K. Patil. The commission, chaired by P.N. Desai, cleared the CM of any misconduct related to the Mysuru Urban Development Authority. Patil indicated that action against officials is recommended, and this matter will be addressed in the next cabinet meeting. The case involves the alleged allocation of 14 plots by MUDA to Siddaramaiah’s wife in 2021. Additionally, the cabinet has decided to propose to the State Election Commission that local body elections be conducted using ballot papers instead of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), due to concerns about voter list integrity and EVM reliability.
