In a recent update, the Chhattisgarh Vyapam has revised its examination rules. Key changes include a ban on wearing shoes; candidates must wear sandals. The permitted attire is restricted to half-sleeved garments. Moreover, wearing jewelry will not be allowed inside the examination hall. These new regulations will be implemented starting with the Sub Engineer recruitment exam on July 20.
The exam gates will now close 15 minutes before the exam’s start time. For example, if the exam is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM, the gate will close at 9:45 AM. Only light-colored clothing with half sleeves is permitted. Candidates are not allowed to exit the examination center during the first and last 30 minutes of the exam.
Vyapam is tightening exam procedures, aligning with standards set by NEET, JEE, and UPSC. Guidelines regarding clothing, footwear, and jewelry will be similar to those of these exams. The checking of candidates will now include metal detector scans, along with the existing manual checks. Police will monitor the exam center premises, as well as the surrounding areas during the exam. According to authorities, the new rules will be effective from the Sub Engineer recruitment exam conducted by the Water Resources Department on July 20.
Any form of communication or signaling in the exam hall will be strictly forbidden. This includes whispering, shouting, conversing, or using hand gestures. Disciplinary action will be taken for failing to comply with official instructions, misconduct, or disruptive behavior. Following a case of cheating in the PWD exam held on Sunday, Vyapam reissued guidelines concerning unfair practices. The guidelines, initially released in February 2023, list the prohibited actions during the exam.
The use of mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, earphones, calculators, or any other communication devices is completely prohibited.
