The Chief Minister, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, has strongly condemned the collapse of the Lutti dam in Balrampur-Ramanujganj district. He issued a strong warning, indicating zero tolerance for any future occurrences of this nature. The Chief Minister criticized the lack of regular field inspections by officials and staff as a contributing factor to the dam breach. He has ordered all involved personnel to promptly and consistently inspect all dams and related infrastructure.
Shri Sai led a comprehensive review of the Water Resources Department at the Mahanadi Bhawan. During the meeting, he provided directives regarding the upkeep and repair of irrigation projects, along with the water-holding capacity of dams and the status of ongoing and upcoming projects. He emphasized strict compliance with the Dam Safety Act 2021, and also instructed officials to enhance coordination with the district administration.
