A meeting of the Central Area Tribal Development Authority was held in the Korba Collectorate meeting room, led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The Chief Minister highlighted that this was the first meeting of the authority after its restructuring, signaling a renewed focus on tribal welfare. The Chhattisgarh government is committed to the holistic development of the tribal community and is providing ample resources for development projects. A key announcement was the increase in the authority’s budget from 50 crore to 75 crore rupees. The government’s approach to inclusive development also involves authorities dedicated to Bastar, Surguja, the Central region, Scheduled Castes, and Other Backward Classes. These bodies aim to speed up development in tribal areas, improve transparency, and extend public services to all villages and families. The authority’s membership has been expanded to include members of parliament, district officials, and experts in tribal development. Furthermore, the PM Janman Yojana and the Dharti Aba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan are creating new opportunities in tribal areas. The government is prioritizing special schemes in education, health, and livelihoods for tribal communities. The government is focused on strengthening self-help groups to empower tribal women, providing them with skills training, credit facilities, and market access. Technical and vocational training will be provided to the youth to prepare them for employment and self-employment. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma emphasized the importance of preserving tribal culture, while Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao highlighted the Chief Minister’s commitment to tribal development by personally attending the meeting. The meeting also included approvals for projects related to sports, education, tourism, and irrigation.
