Raipur, July 27, 2025 / Union Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, Government of India, Dr. Chandrashekhar Pemmasani, today paid a courtesy call to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai at the Chief Minister’s residence office located in the capital Raipur. During this, there was a detailed discussion between the two leaders regarding rural development, coordinated implementation of schemes of the central and state governments, strengthening of communication facilities in tribal areas, and development works being carried out in Maoist-affected areas.
Chief Minister Shri Sai informed about the efforts being made by the state government to realize Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s development-oriented vision on the ground. He said that after our government was formed, approval has been given for 18 lakh pucca houses in the first cabinet meeting, which is fulfilling the dream of housing for the poor families of the state. He said that Atal Digital Seva Kendras have been started in 1,460 gram panchayats to strengthen banking services, which is providing easy and accessible banking facilities to the rural population.
Chief Minister Shri Sai, while discussing the steps taken towards the economic empowerment of women, said that the state government is encouraging skill development and innovation. The work being done by women’s self-help groups in rural areas has set a new example of self-reliance.
Union Minister of State Dr. Chandrashekhar Pemmasani informed Chief Minister Shri Sai about his visit to Narayanpur and Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki districts. He said that the schemes of the central government are being implemented effectively in these areas and the local people are getting direct benefit from them. Dr. Pemmasani, while appreciating the rapid positive changes taking place in the Maoist areas, said that it is a sign of a bright future for Chhattisgarh. He mentioned the exhibition organized by women’s self-help groups under the ‘Bihan’ scheme and said that the quality of bell metal, millets and household products prepared by the sisters of the groups is highly commendable. He said that the women of these groups are earning a monthly income of 15 to 20 thousand rupees, which is a remarkable achievement in the direction of self-reliance of rural women.
Dr. Pemmasani, while remembering the traditional welcome of the tribal community, said that dancing with them and the experience of connecting spiritually with the local culture was unforgettable. He also made a special mention of his visit to the Pariyana Divyang Residential School and described the heartfelt conversation with the children there as an extremely emotional moment. He praised the efforts being made by the government for disabled children. On this occasion, the Chief Minister’s Secretary, Shri P. Dayanand, was present.
