Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah performed Bhoomipujan of NFSU and NFSL
Modern building with all facilities of both institutions will be built in 40 acres in Banjari, Nava Raipur
Facility of education and training will be available in scientific investigation as well as forensic science, criminology, investigative research and forensic psychology
Raipur. June 22, 2025. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah today performed the Bhoomipujan for the construction of the buildings of the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) and National Forensic Science Laboratory (NFSL) in Gram Banjari of Nava Raipur. Modern buildings with all facilities of both national institutions will be built in 40 acres in Banjari of Nava Raipur. Initially, Rs 130-130 crore has been approved for the construction of buildings of both the institutions in the campus. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Arun Sao and Shri Vijay Sharma, Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh, Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam and Forest and Environment Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap also participated in the Bhoomipujan program.
NFSL is the most hi-tech forensic lab in the country. With its establishment, Chhattisgarh is going to get a big facility in the field of scientific investigation. At the same time, NFSU is the top institution in the country for the study of forensic science. It conducts courses in forensic science, investigative science and criminology. In the year 2020, it was given the status of an institution of national importance. Its establishment in the state will make education and training accessible in specific fields like forensic science, criminology, investigative research and forensic psychology.
On this occasion, MP Shri Brijmohan Agarwal, former Governor of Maharashtra Shri Ramesh Bais, MLAs Sarvashree Kiran Dev, Indra Kumar Sahu, Anuj Sharma and Guru Khushwant Saheb, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain and Director General of Police Shri Arun Dev Gautam including senior officials of the Home Department and local public representatives were present.
