Two individuals, bound by love and a desire to marry, were met with disapproval from the girl’s family, leading them to a devastating decision. The couple jumped into the Hasdev River from the Anicut. While the male partner was rescued, the female remains missing, and search operations are ongoing.
Local police were alerted to the incident at the Girwa Ghat. Police and divers entered the water to carry out a rescue. Risking their own safety, the team managed to reach the young man struggling in the river’s current.
Upon being questioned, the rescued individual identified himself as Rahul, a resident of Kashi Nagar. He explained that he was in love with a girl from Atal Awas in Maharana Pratap Nagar. Their intention was to marry, but the girl’s family’s refusal prompted the couple to attempt suicide in the Hasdev River.
The diver’s search for the woman who jumped with Rahul was unsuccessful. The current whereabouts and condition of Rahul’s partner are currently unknown.
