Raipur, August 11, 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai will honor the cleanliness sisters who have made Chhattisgarh proud at the national level by foot-washing them at ‘Swachhta Sangam-2025’ to be held on August 12, 2025 in Bilaspur district by the Department of Urban Administration and Development. On this occasion, he will also honor the urban bodies that have performed excellently in the Swachh Survekshan-2024-25. Chief Minister Shri Sai will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of development works costing more than Rs 260 crore at the Indoor Stadium located in Bahatarai, Bilaspur on August 12. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Tokhan Sahu, MLAs Shri Dharamlal Kaushik, Shri Amar Agarwal, Shri Dharmjit Singh, Shri Dilip Lahariya, Shri Sushant Shukla and Shri Atal Srivastava and Mayor of Bilaspur Smt. Pooja Vidhani will be present in the program. All the mayors of the municipal corporations of the state, chairmen, in-charge members of the health department, presidents of the municipalities and gram panchayats, vice presidents, in-charge members of the health department, corporation commissioners, chief municipal officers, senior engineers of urban bodies and nodal officers of Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) including nine thousand cleanliness sisters have been invited to ‘Swachhta Sangam’.
Secretary of Urban Administration and Development Department, Dr. Basvaraju S. said that the cleanliness sisters who have made significant contribution in making the cities clean and beautiful will be honored by foot-washing in ‘Swachhta Sangam’. Seven urban bodies that performed excellently in Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 have been honored with the award by the President Smt. Draupadi Murmu in New Delhi. Along with these urban bodies, more than 30 urban bodies that have performed best at the division level will also be honored in the program.
A state level competition will be launched in Swachhta Sangam to increase the standards of cleanliness and urban beautification in urban bodies. Through this competition, along with strengthening urban sanitation, there will be improvement in administrative skills through good governance and encouragement to urban beautification. This initiative will not only help in making cities clean and beautiful, but will also enhance the quality of life of the citizens. It will encourage the public representatives, officers and citizens of every urban body to recognize their capabilities in the field of cleanliness and urban beautification and make them better.
A GIS based property tax live portal will be inaugurated in the program for online property tax payment facility in three municipal corporations—Birgaon, Bhilai-Charoda and Dhamtari—and 43 municipalities. In this way, the start of the facility to pay property tax online in 46 cities simultaneously is an important step towards modernizing local self-government and providing facilities to the citizens at their homes. This will also increase the speed of tax collection.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of development works worth more than Rs 260 crore on the occasion of ‘Swachhta Sangam’. Under this, he will inaugurate 24 construction and development works costing more than Rs 63 crore 57 lakh and lay the foundation stone for 25 works costing more than Rs 197 crore in various departments in Bilaspur district. In the program, he will also distribute materials and checks to the beneficiaries of various schemes.
Chief Minister Shri Sai will inaugurate the commercial complex constructed at a cost of Rs 3 crore 85 lakh at Nutan Chowk in Bilaspur, STP at Koni at a cost of Rs 9 crore 5 lakh, the girl’s hostel of Government Engineering College at a cost of Rs 4 crore 82 lakh, the 3.6 km long Ngoi Basti to Modhe Naka road constructed at a cost of Rs 6 crore 29 lakh, the widening, strengthening and asphalting work of the 7 km long Uslapur-Daija road at a cost of Rs 12 crore 53 lakh, and the two-lane road construction work from Mangla Bhainsajhar to Deendayal Colony Lokhandi railway gate at a cost of Rs 5 crore 45 lakh. Along with this, he will also launch the Nal-Jal Yojana under Jal Jeevan Mission in 11 villages of Bilaspur district.
Chief Minister Shri Sai will lay the foundation stone for the construction of Nalanda complex and academic block under the Education Hub at a cost of Rs 26 crore 42 lakh in Dayalband, and the Gaurav Path at a cost of Rs 17 crore from Ashok Nagar Chowk to Birkora Mod under the Chief Minister’s Urban Development Scheme. In addition, he will lay the foundation stone for the construction of Atal Path at a cost of Rs 9 crore 74 lakh from Arpa Indrasetu to Ram Setu under the Chief Minister’s Urban Development Scheme, and the construction of Mangla Chowk to Azad Chowk road at a cost of Rs 5 crore 9 lakh.
Chief Minister Shri Sai will lay the foundation stone for a high-level bridge on the Arpa river on the Shani-Chandideeh road at a cost of Rs 11 crore 56 lakh, a bridge on the Maniyari river between Takhatpur-Barela at a cost of Rs 3 crore 76 lakh, the upgradation work of the water supply system operated in Bahatarai, Rajkishore Nagar, Lingiyadih, Devrikhurd and Sirgitti at a cost of Rs 9 crore 90 lakh, the strengthening work of the 12.6 km long Butena-Dhaurabhata road at a cost of Rs 34 crore 16 lakh, the English medium Adarsh Mahavidyalaya building at a cost of Rs 10 crore and the auditorium to be built in Bilaspur at a cost of Rs 22 crore 22 lakh. Apart from this, he will lay the foundation stone for the anicut at Vijaypur at a cost of Rs 6 crore 81 lakh and the construction of a 2.5 km long road including a culvert on the Sarar Nala between Son and Sonsari Sabaridera of Bilaspur district at a cost of Rs 7 crore 96 lakh, along with various works of Municipal Corporation, Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana, Public Works Department, Rural Engineering Service and Panchayat and Rural Development Department.
