A technical snag caused a delay for passengers on an IndiGo flight at Raipur’s Swami Vivekananda Airport. The flight, which arrived from Delhi, experienced a gate lock issue, leaving passengers stranded on board for about 40 minutes. Among the passengers were prominent figures, including former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Raipur’s Mayor Meenal Choubey.
The flight landed safely at 2:25 PM, but the gate malfunction meant passengers had to wait inside. Mayor Choubey confirmed that the cooling and water supply remained available, minimizing discomfort. However, the recent aviation disaster in Ahmedabad added to passenger anxiety. Engineers worked to resolve the issue, eventually opening the gate and allowing passengers to disembark.
The root cause was a technical fault preventing the opening signal from appearing on the pilot’s display. Airport personnel and engineers worked diligently to rectify the problem. IndiGo has yet to release an official statement.
The incident at Raipur sparked heightened concern among passengers, especially considering the recent Air India crash. The swift resolution of the gate issue was crucial in preventing further distress.
