Raipur, August 26, 2025/- The Chhattisgarh government has once again shown its commitment to increase sports facilities. The government is constantly striving to provide modern resources to the players, encourage the players and ensure excellent performance. In this series, administrative approval has been granted for the construction of Indoor Badminton Hall / Multipurpose Sports Complex in Dhamtari and Kurud. Under the Sports Promotion Scheme, the state government is taking many important initiatives towards expanding the sports infrastructure and encouraging sports talents.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai is paying special attention to the development of infrastructure, training and incentive schemes to promote sports. The plan to give prize money of up to Rs 1 to 3 crore to the players who win medals in international events like the Olympics is an indicator of the government’s commitment. This initiative not only boosts the morale of the players but also inspires the new generation to take up sports. Apart from this, arrangements like upgradation of grounds, availability of high level equipment, financial assistance to sports clubs and organization of traditional sports are being ensured under the Chhattisgarh Sports Promotion Scheme.
The Collector of Dhamtari said that administrative approval of approximately Rs 5-5 crore has been granted for the project of Indoor Badminton Hall / Multipurpose Sports Hall in Dhamtari and Kurud of the district. Modern facilities for various indoor games will be provided to the players here, including badminton, table tennis, carrom, chess, ludo and snake-ladder, dart board, snooker, archery, yoga room, squash, basketball, pickleball. The most important thing is that the necessary equipment and structures for these games will be in accordance with international standards.
Not only this, all necessary provisions will be made in the sports complex not only for sports facilities but also for the convenience of players and spectators. These include player rooms for the comfort and preparation of the players, a well-organized sports hall waiting area for spectators and participants, a first aid room for emergency medical facilities, and separate toilets for women and men. With these provisions, players will not have to face any kind of inconvenience during training and participation in competitions.
Many youths in the areas around Dhamtari and Kurud are active in sports, but due to lack of adequate resources and training centers, they are not able to take their talent to the state and national level. The construction of these indoor sports complexes will provide quality training to the local players and they will be able to hone their skills.
The multipurpose sports complexes of Dhamtari and Kurud will prove to be a milestone in the field of sports. In the coming time, the players of Dhamtari and Kurud will not only bring glory to Chhattisgarh but also on national and international platforms.
