A video showing the SBI service manager in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, celebrating with alcohol in the bank’s new office has become a viral sensation. The manager, Ashish Walkar, was hosting a gathering with friends on Sunday night, as captured in the video. The footage originated from the SBI Margadarshi Bank office in Bijapur.
Walkar’s transfer to Raipur was the reason for the farewell party. The building, where the party took place, was recently acquired by the bank, but it hasn’t been occupied yet. The new SBI building is situated near the Bijapur bus stand.
The video reveals the SBI service manager holding a glass of liquor, with his companions also partaking. Around 10-12 people, all outsiders, were present at the office, accompanied by loud music, which caused a disturbance in the neighborhood. A local youth started recording the scene due to the noise.
When questioned about the noise, the manager stated that it was a farewell party. He mentioned that it was his final day, and they were celebrating because of his transfer. He added that he would not be returning to Bijapur and that his friends would be leaving soon.
Following the viral spread of the video, discussions about potential actions are underway, even though no formal complaint has been filed with the police. The bank administration is currently maintaining silence on the issue.
