The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai, launched the SBI Cyber Security Awareness Campaign by flagging off the Cyber Vigilance Rath in Raipur. He recognized the ease and convenience that technology offers while also pointing out the increased risk of cybercrimes. He emphasized the importance of awareness and caution in preventing financial losses due to cyber fraud. The awareness campaign will leverage audio-video messages, street plays, and puppet shows to educate the public about cyber threats. The campaign will focus on 29 identified hotspots with high instances of cyber fraud. The Chief Minister cautioned the public against sharing sensitive banking information like passwords and OTPs and advised against clicking on unknown links. He warned that cybercriminals are constantly evolving their tactics, and any carelessness can lead to significant financial losses. The State Bank of India’s initiative, under the banner ‘Banker for Every Indian’, aims to educate citizens about cyber security from August 15, 2024, to November 30, 2025. The campaign will travel to all 33 districts of the state, utilizing street plays to educate the public about cyber fraud and how to prevent it.
