*Rationalization of 1611 schools in Bastar division*
*Now children will get better facilities*
Raipur, June 02, 2025/ In line with the National Education Policy 2020 and the Right to Education Act 2009, a meaningful initiative is being taken towards the rationalization of schools with the aim of making the education system better and more inclusive in the state. Under this initiative, a total of 1611 schools in seven districts of Bastar division are being rationalized. This is expected to bring about a significant improvement in the quality of schools, availability of resources and the educational environment.
According to the information received from the Joint Director of Education, Bastar Division, schools have been identified in Bastar, Bijapur, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kanker and Sukma districts of Bastar division, where either the number of students was very less or more than two schools were operating in the same premises or nearby. These schools are being integrated and equipped with better facilities. The Joint Director of Education said that 274 schools in Bastar district, 65 in Bijapur district, 394 in Kondagaon district, 80 in Narayanpur, 76 in Dantewada district, 584 in Kanker district and 138 schools in Sukma district of Bastar division are being rationalized. This will enable the posting of surplus teachers in teacher-less single-teacher and other needy schools. This will improve the quality of education. Along with this, children will also be able to get better educational resources like libraries, science laboratories, computer labs and sports equipment.
The Joint Director, Education, Bastar Division, Jagdalpur, said that with the study in the same premises in integrated schools, it will be easier for the children to come to school regularly, which will increase the attendance rate of students and reduce the dropout rate. Apart from this, administrative expenses will also be reduced and savings can be used to improve educational quality. He said that this entire process is being carried out in a planned and phased manner, with the aim of providing quality education to children and making school premises resource-rich. This initiative is considered a revolutionary step in the field of education, which will benefit thousands of children in Bastar division and Chhattisgarh will be able to create a new identity in the field of education.
