Under the provisions of the rationalization instructions issued by the School Education Department in Chhattisgarh, extensive rationalization action has been taken in the state. As a result of this major step, 16,165 teachers and principals have been adjusted. Now no school in the state is without teachers.
It is noteworthy that earlier where 5,936 schools were single-teacher schools, after rationalization, only 1,207 primary schools have remained single-teacher schools due to unavailability of teachers.
The School Education Department has identified surplus teachers subject-wise. If a teacher of a particular subject was found to be surplus in an institution, but the post of another subject was vacant in the same institution based on the setup, then such surplus teacher was rationalized and the teacher of that subject was posted on the vacant subject post as per the requirement.
Under the rationalization instructions, surplus teachers have been identified on the basis of the date of posting in the schools. During this time, special attention was also paid to factors like subject, disability and probation period.
In addition, the calculation of surplus teachers has been done on the basis of the original subject recorded in their service book.
The action of drawing salaries of the teachers who have been relieved after rationalization and have taken charge in the new posting place is being done on the basis of the last salary certificate received from the previously posted institution.
Similarly, the government is seriously examining the representations received from various teachers during the rationalization process (including judicial cases). The investigation of these cases is being done in the committee of Divisional Commissioner, Directorate level committee and Government level committee and they will be resolved soon.
