The Helping Hands Club Foundation held a special Raksha Bandhan event titled ‘Rakhi with Protector, a Bond of Love’ at the Police Parade Ground, Civil Lines, Raipur. The event saw participation from jawans of the BSF, ITBP, Chhattisgarh Police, Central Force, and Odisha. Sisters tied rakhis on the wrists of the jawans, symbolizing their appreciation and affection. The sisters expressed their gratitude, stating that their safety and peace are ensured by the sacrifices of the jawans. Dr. Lal Umed, the organizer, highlighted that the jawans’ commitment to duty keeps them away from their families, allowing everyone to celebrate festivals safely. He also stressed the importance of awareness and caution regarding cybercrime and substance abuse. IPS Rajesh Kukreja acknowledged that Helping Hands had honored the police family by the gesture. He committed to the safety of all women and praised the initiative for the jawans who lack sisters, filling a void for them. Manoj Goyal, a patron of Helping Hands, shared that the aim was to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with the jawans who stay away from home to ensure our safety. Babita Agarwal, the women’s wing president, mentioned that the joy on the faces of the jawans while receiving the rakhis brought them immense satisfaction. She added that they aim to comfort the jawans and ease their feeling of missing their sisters and homes. The event also addressed cybercrime and drug abuse, with Dr. Lal Umed urging the women to be vigilant. This event was not just a celebration but also aimed to promote security and awareness within the community.
