A special Raksha Bandhan event, ‘Rakhi with Rakshak, Dori Prem Ka,’ was organized by the Helping Hands Club Foundation at the Police Parade Ground, Civil Lines, Raipur. Soldiers from the BSF, ITBP, Chhattisgarh Police, Central Forces, and Odisha participated in the event. Women tied rakhis on the wrists of the soldiers, expressing their appreciation and love for them. The women present shared heartfelt sentiments, stating, “We can sleep peacefully because you are awake. We are safe because of your duty.” Dr. Lal Umed from the Helping Hands Club Foundation explained that soldiers are often away from their families due to their duties. He mentioned that everyone can celebrate festivals safely because the soldiers are deployed to protect the country. He also noted that the soldiers undoubtedly miss their homes. He stressed the need to address rising issues such as cybercrime and drug abuse, adding that vigilance and caution are essential for our security. IPS Rajesh Kukreja stated that by tying rakhis to the soldiers, Helping Hands honored the entire police family of India, and that it is the responsibility to ensure the safety of every sister. He appreciated the initiative and said it is special for those soldiers who do not have sisters. Manoj Goyal, a patron of Helping Hands, shared that the aim is to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with their soldier brothers who are away from home to ensure their safety. Last year’s event was also successful and the event is celebrated this year with even greater grandeur. The motto is, ‘Service to humanity is service to God.’ Babita Agarwal, the president of the women’s wing, said that the smile on the faces of the soldiers gives them a lot of peace. They try to make sure that the soldiers don’t miss their sisters and don’t feel homesick. Discussions were also held on issues like cybercrime and substance abuse. Dr. Lal Umed requested women to be vigilant and cautious. This event was a celebration and conveyed a message of safety and awareness.
