In a significant development for the residents of Raipur, the city is set to see the simultaneous construction of seven new overbridges. The initiative, which marks a first for the city, aims to alleviate traffic congestion, a major concern for commuters. The PWD has secured the necessary budget and set a one-year deadline for the completion of the projects. The selection of locations for these overbridges was based on a thorough survey, identifying areas with frequent traffic jams and a high incidence of accidents. The construction will span across various parts of the city.
The new overbridges are planned for the following locations:
* **Kali Bari to Police Line Gate:** A new overbridge will be constructed to ease traffic flow. The cost of the project is estimated at ₹50 crore.
* **Fundhar Chowk to Temri:** A flyover is slated to be constructed at Fundhar Chowk with a budget of ₹30 crore.
* **Amlidih Chowk to Dronacharya School:** An overbridge is planned over the Canal Linking Road, with the estimated cost of ₹40 crore.
* **Gudhiyari to Expressway Flyover:** A flyover is planned to connect Shukrawari Bazar in Gudhiyari to the Expressway.
