The Raipur police have cracked the suitcase murder case in the DD Nagar area, arresting four individuals including a lawyer and his wife. The incident, as revealed by SSP Lal Umed Singh, was masterminded by Ankit Upadhyay, a lawyer, and his wife, Shivani Sharma. The couple committed the murder in a rented house in Indraprastha Colony and then disposed of the body in a suitcase in a remote location with the help of two associates. The investigation revealed that the victim, Kishor Paikra, had given Rs 30 lakh to Ankit, which the lawyer had utilized for personal purposes. When Paikra began pressuring Ankit for the return of his money, the lawyer and his wife devised a plan to kill him. They concealed the body in a trolley bag and a tin box, covering it with cement to hide the evidence. After the murder, the couple fled but were apprehended at Delhi airport. Evidence was collected by forensic experts from the crime scene. An Alto car, two two-wheelers, and five mobile phones were seized as evidence. The accused have been charged and remanded in judicial custody.
