The Food Safety Department in Raipur has launched an aggressive campaign to curb food adulteration before the upcoming festivals. As part of this initiative, a team of food safety officials conducted a surprise inspection at the renowned Haldiram’s restaurant in Shankar Nagar on Monday. The team collected samples of sweets for laboratory analysis. The department had previously targeted Sweet Hut & Bakers in the Telibandha area, also collecting samples of various food items for testing. This action is part of the ‘Bane Khabo-Bane Rahiho’ special campaign. The Food Department is actively collecting samples from various locations, including sweets, savory snacks, and other food products. Authorities have announced that strict measures will be taken against any shopkeepers found to be selling adulterated food, once the investigation reports are available. The primary goal of the department is to provide the public with safe and unadulterated food during the festive season. The Food Safety Department plans to escalate the campaign, implementing a zero-tolerance policy to safeguard the health of the public during the festivals.
