Raipur, August 14, 2025/ The Prime Minister’s Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana is providing great relief to the common people. Along with environmental protection, there is also a saving on hefty electricity bills. Jamsher Mohammad Sheikh of Bilha, Bilaspur district, has installed a 3-kilowatt solar plant on his roof, which is saving him approximately 3 thousand rupees per month. He said that the total cost of the solar plant was 1 lakh 85 thousand rupees. Out of this, a subsidy of 78 thousand rupees was also received from the central government and a subsidy of thirty thousand rupees is also going to be received soon from the state government.
Mohammad Jamsher said that before installing the solar plant, his monthly electricity bill used to be two and a half to 3 thousand, after getting information about the PM Suryaghar Yojana, he contacted the electricity department and completed the process and took advantage of the scheme. Now his electricity bill has become zero. This is giving him great financial relief. He said that this initiative of the government to promote renewable energy and conserve natural resources is benefiting electricity consumers. He said that the setup was installed at his home within ten days of applying. Thanking the central and state governments for this important scheme, he said that the maintenance of the solar system is very easy and there is no extra expense involved. Describing it as very useful, he appealed to everyone to take advantage of the scheme.
*Subsidy is being received from the government* –
It is noteworthy that under this scheme, the installed solar rooftop plant is connected to the electricity grid through net metering. Consumers can produce more electricity than they need and supply it to the grid, due to which their electricity bill becomes zero and they also get additional income. Under this scheme, on installing a 1-kilowatt solar plant, a total subsidy of 45 thousand rupees will be received from the central government at 30 thousand rupees and from the state government at 15 thousand rupees, 60 thousand from the center and 30 thousand from the state on 2 kilowatts, while on installing a 3-kilowatt solar panel, a grant of 1 lakh 8 thousand rupees will be received from the central government at 78 thousand rupees and from the state government at 30 thousand rupees.
