Following observed lapses in the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Pendra development block, the district administration has initiated disciplinary proceedings. Secretary Rajkumar Sharma of Tendumuda Gram Panchayat has been suspended due to negligence and lack of attention to duties. Moreover, a show-cause notice has been served to Jyoti Kashyap, the employment assistant from the same panchayat.
In addition to these actions, the secretary of Thadpathra Gram Panchayat has been ordered to be transferred to a different posting with immediate effect.
The directives were given by District Panchayat CEO Surendra Prasad Vaidya, who has emphasized that any form of negligence concerning government schemes will not be acceptable. He has cautioned all panchayat staff, stating that strong measures will be enforced against individuals hindering the progress of critical initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The administration’s firm stance has created ripples among the panchayats, with instructions issued to other panchayats to ensure timely and transparent implementation of the schemes.
