An accident at the NTPC plant in Sipet, Bilaspur district, resulted in multiple casualties and injuries. The incident occurred at approximately 12:00 PM today, during maintenance work on the pre-air heater platform in boiler unit number 5. Workers were engaged in repair activities during a shutdown when a heavy iron structure of the pre-air heater platform collapsed due to a technical fault, causing a chain to break. The falling structure crushed several workers.
