Raising, August 2025: No distribution of low-quality calcium tablets to patients or hospitals has been done. The quality control of vitamins D3 tablets was caught in a primary investigation by the employees of the warehouse. The employees informed the senior officers, QMCS department, and headquarters about the broken tablets. In response to this information, the batch of these tablets was immediately blocked, and the representative of the supplier institution was called for explanation. The health-verified tablets are not given to any patient. They are not sent to any hospital.
According to information from QMCS, 500 mg calcium tablets were supplied by Health Life Farm Ltd. This lot of 65 boxes, consisting of 6,500 units, was received at the Korba Warehouse. Immediately after receiving the tablets, employees conducted a primary test in the warehouse. During the test, it was found that the tablets broke after being removed from the strips. Employees informed the QMCS Quality Control Department immediately and blocked the entire batch of low-quality tablets. QMCS revealed that no material receipts certificate had been prepared for this consignment so far. According to QMCS policy, no drug is included in inventory or distributed to any institution without a material reception certificate. In this case, low-quality calcium-vitamin D3 tablets were not given to any patient nor were they sent to any government hospital. The institution supplying the product, Health Life Farm Pvt. Ltd, was instructed to present samples and give an explanation. In addition, the institution was instructed to replace low-quality batches of drugs with new drugs. The supplier was also warned of disciplinary action if they did not comply with the terms of the tender.
QMCS assured the citizens of Chhattisgarh that the drug supply system in the state was not only vigilant but also had a well-organized quality monitoring system. The drug supply is inspected and tested as soon as it reaches the warehouse. All drug tests are done in labs accredited by NABL. QMCS also said that only quality-assured and certified drugs are made available to the public. If low-quality drugs are found, they are immediately stopped, and their distribution is prohibited. Prompt action is taken against the irresponsible supplier.
