New initiative of Panchayat and Rural Development Department towards empowerment of rural women: ‘Didi Ke Goth’ radio program to be launched

Raipur, August 30, 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai has said that the real meaning of good governance will be complete only when our rural women become socially, economically and familially empowered. With this visionary thinking, the Chhattisgarh government has taken a new historic initiative to encourage women towards self-reliance and self-sufficiency.
A special radio program “Didi Ke Goth”, prepared under the State Rural Livelihoods Mission (BIHAN), will be launched on August 31, 2025 at 12:15 pm. This program will be broadcast simultaneously from all Akashvani centers of the state including Akashvani Raipur center. Also, its live streaming will also be available on the online platform (www.onlineradiofm.in/stations/all-india-air-raipur). Didi Ke Goth is not just a radio program, but it is a reflection of the visionary thinking of the government of good governance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai ji.
Its objective is to convey the voice of women to the whole society, to bring their struggles and achievements to the fore and to show them the path of positive change by connecting them with the schemes of the government.
In the program, special messages and inspirational greetings will be broadcast to the name of rural women by Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, Union Rural Development Minister of the Government of India and Deputy Chief Minister and Panchayat and Rural Development Minister of the state Shri Vijay Sharma. This occasion will not only be the launch of a program, but will also become a powerful medium to convey the policies and schemes of the government directly to the public.
The main objective of Didi Ke Goth is to connect women of rural areas with various schemes of the government, provide them opportunities for self-employment and move towards self-reliance and self-sufficiency. In this program, stories of successful women of self-help groups will be narrated—how they overcame struggles and difficulties and not only achieved economic stability with their hard work and self-confidence, but also created a new identity in the society. Today, lakhs of women of Chhattisgarh have become Lakhpati Didis. Their lives have been positively changed by the BIHAN scheme. Their inspiring stories will reach every village and every home through the voice of the radio, so that other women can also take the path of self-reliance.
To make the impact of this program even more widespread, arrangements for collective listening are being made at the Panchayat, Gram Sangathan and Sankul Sangathan levels. In this, public representatives, administrative officers, local community and Didis of self-help groups will be specially included. Collective listening will create an environment of mutual dialogue, discussion and inspiration in rural areas.
