Raipur, August 08, 2025/ Today, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, a new era has begun in the field of education, skill development and innovation in Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Shri Sai today witnessed the signing of the trilateral MoU between the Chhattisgarh government, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur and Motilal Oswal Foundation in a special program held at Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium located in the capital. The construction of the Entrepreneurship Center to be established under this agreement will begin in the year 2025-26 and the target has been set to make it fully operational by the year 2027-28.
Education, skills and innovation revolution will reach every village: Chief Minister Shri Sai
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said on this occasion that the MoU signed today will provide significant assistance in realizing the “Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision”. This partnership will bring the revolution of education, skill development and innovation to every village in the state, which will inspire the youth to move forward.
The Chief Minister said that under this trilateral agreement, “Shrimati Mithilesh Agarwal Innovation and Entrepreneurship Excellence Center” will be established, which will work to make the youth self-reliant through research, experimentation and entrepreneurship.
He also said that this center of excellence should not be limited to the students of IIM or NIT only, but should also benefit the youth of every village. The Chief Minister also urged the industry to join this movement of education and skill development.
Chhattisgarh will lead an innovation-based economy, not resource-based: Chief Minister Shri Sai
Chief Minister Shri Sai further said that Chhattisgarh is now rapidly progressing in cutting-edge areas like semiconductors, artificial intelligence, pharma, defense, aerospace and green hydrogen along with the core sector. As a result of more than three and a half hundred reforms implemented in the last 20 months, a favorable investment environment has been created in the state and investment proposals of more than Rs 6.75 lakh crore have been received in just eight months.
The Chief Minister appealed to the people of the state that we all should take a pledge to make Chhattisgarh a state that leads an innovation-based economy, not a resource-based one – where the youth become the bearers of change and give direction to the society through entrepreneurship.
Country’s largest training center will be built for farmers
Shri Ramdev Agarwal, Co-founder and Chairman of Motilal Oswal Foundation, announced the establishment of the country’s largest training center for farmers in Raipur in the program. He said that Chhattisgarh is a very prosperous state, which has immense possibilities of development. His foundation is fully dedicated to this development journey. Mr. Agarwal said that the foundation has decided to dedicate 10 percent of its total funds to social welfare, which will be used in works related to education, skill and agriculture.
Motilal Oswal Foundation’s contribution of Rs 172 crore
Motilal Oswal Foundation has announced to donate a total of Rs 172 crore to IIM Raipur and NIT Raipur. Out of this, Rs 101 crore will be given to IIM Raipur and Rs 71 crore will be given to NIT Raipur.
With this donation, 202 rooms of “Oswal Hostel” and “Dau Ram Gopal Agarwal Knowledge Center” will be established in IIM Raipur. In addition, six international MBA programs will be started in collaboration with top institutions from America, Britain, France and Germany.
Similarly, “Shrimati Mithilesh Agarwal Center of Excellence” will be established in NIT Raipur, which will work on deep-tech areas like Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Internet of Things, Blockchain and Clean Energy.
This center will train more than 10,000 youth by the year 2030, incubate more than 250 startups and create more than 5,000 skilled jobs. This initiative has been developed in accordance with the industrial needs of Chhattisgarh – especially the mining, steel and manufacturing sectors – and it will focus on solving real problems in collaboration with local industries.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary Smt. Niharika Barik, Secretary, Department of Higher Education and Skill Development, Shri S. Bhartidasan, Chief Executive Officer of Chhattisgarh State Skill Development Authority, Shri Vijay Dayaram K, Chairman of NIT Raipur, Dr. Suresh Haware, Chairman of IIM Raipur, Shri Puneet Dalmia, Director of NIT, Shri N. V. Prasanna Rao, In-charge Director of IIM Raipur Dr. Sanjeev Parashar, administrative officers, educationists and a large number of students were present.
