The government is focused on extending banking services to rural areas, according to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance to farmers, entrepreneurs, and citizens within their own villages, thereby supporting both economic growth and the efficient execution of government programs.
Three new branches of the Chhattisgarh State Rural Bank have been launched in Jashpur district. The inauguration, conducted virtually from the Chief Minister’s camp office, included branches in Ara, Kudekela, and Chichli villages. The Chief Minister also released the bank’s 12th annual report during the event.
The new branches are expected to benefit over 44,000 people in the region. The branches will serve residents of 23 gram panchayats and 48 dependent villages. This will reduce the need for villagers to travel long distances for banking transactions, saving both time and resources.
Atal Digital Suvidha Kendras have been established in 268 panchayats across the district, processing approximately 15 crore rupees in transactions. The government plans to extend this service to all panchayats by Panchayat Day. These centers provide banking, insurance, and government scheme services directly to villagers.
