Efforts are underway to rid Chhattisgarh of Naxal influence. Security forces are conducting intensive operations based on directives from the central and state governments. These sustained, successful operations appear to be affecting the Naxal organization, which now expresses interest in peace talks.
A letter attributed to Abhay, the central spokesperson for the Naxal organization, has circulated on social media. Abhay indicates a willingness to engage in dialogue, contingent upon a government-declared ceasefire.
The letter also claims the party has been striving for peace talks since March 2025, contrasting with the government’s escalated encirclement and elimination efforts since January 2024. Abhay’s letter also details the death of 28 central committee members, including General Secretary Baswaraju, in a major encounter in Gundekot, Mad area on May 21.
The organization now intends to advance the stalled peace process and plans to collaborate with political parties and other organizations on public issues, abandoning armed struggle.
