A review meeting concerning the Housing and Environment Department was held by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at Mahanadi Bhawan in Nava Raipur. During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the work being done by the Nava Raipur Development Authority and gave necessary directions to the officials. Present at the meeting were Finance and Housing & Environment Minister Shri O.P. Chaudhary, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat, Secretary Housing and Environment Shri Ankit Anand, NRDA CEO Shri Chandan Kumar, Commissioner of Chhattisgarh Housing Board Shri Avnish Sharan, Raipur Development Authority CEO Shri Akash Chhikara, among other senior officials.
The Chief Minister stated that the government’s priority is the systematic development of Nava Raipur, ensuring it aligns with future demands. Nava Raipur is planned to become a modern capital, already hosting top educational institutions like IIM, IIIT, and National Law University. As the area is expected to grow, the expansion of civic amenities is essential. The Chief Minister discussed the expansion of rail connectivity, directing officials regarding the new railway line from Parmalkasa to Kharsia, to be constructed by the Government of India, passing through Balodabazar district. He expressed the intent to connect this line to Nava Raipur, thus broadening the rail facilities and benefiting the public.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Sai emphasized the necessity of a logistics hub in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar under the Bharatmala project, connecting to Visakhapatnam, to promote development, imports, and exports. Officials reported the expressway through Chhattisgarh is nearly 95% complete, reducing the Raipur-Visakhapatnam distance by 100 km. The Chief Minister noted that the state’s new industrial policy is attracting investors, leading to job creation. Discussions also covered the Oxyzone project, with focus on the plantation and growth of trees like Peepal, Banyan, Karanj, Neem, Ashok, Amaltas, and Gulmohar. Officials also shared plans for a commission bidding complex for state commissions, boards, and corporations, alongside proposals for a working women’s hostel, a 100-bed hospital, and a new police station in Nava Raipur. The Chief Minister directed the proper utilization of allocated land for new building construction in the region.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the workings of the Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board, Chhattisgarh Housing Board, Town and Country Planning, Chhattisgarh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), and Raipur Development Authority, issuing necessary directions.
