Raipur, July 08, 2025/ The Chhattisgarh government is continuously striving to ensure the uninterrupted supply of chemical fertilizers to farmers. Keeping in view the shortage of DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate) during Kharif 2025, the state government has made special arrangements for the storage and distribution of Nano DAP as a practical alternative. Along with this, alternative fertilizers like NPK and SSP have also been stored in excess of the target. To overcome the shortage of solid DAP fertilizer in farming, farmers are being advised to use Nano DAP or NPK and single super phosphate fertilizer in accordance with the suggestions of agricultural scientists.
Nano DAP is a modern, economical and effective liquid fertilizer, which is much more useful and rich in nutrients compared to traditional DAP. Scientists of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur, supporting Nano DAP, have said that its use reduces the cost of farming. Nano DAP effectively fulfills the deficiency of nutrition in the field and also increases the quality of production. Nano DAP is also safe for the environment. One bag of solid DAP is used for one acre of paddy crop. Its cost is Rs 1350, while if a mixture of 25 kg of solid DAP and 500 ml of Nano DAP is used in one acre, then its cost comes down to Rs 1275.
Agricultural scientists of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University have given detailed information on the method of using Nano DAP for farming one acre of paddy. According to this, only 600 ml of Nano DAP is used in one acre of paddy cultivation. Before sowing paddy, for one acre, 30 kg of seeds are treated with 150 ml of Nano DAP dissolved in three liters of water and after drying the seeds in the shade for half an hour, sowing is done. At the time of transplanting, after mixing 250 ml of Nano DAP in 50 liters of water, the roots of the seedlings are kept submerged for half an hour, then transplanting is done and 30 days after the sowing of the crop, 250 ml of Nano DAP is dissolved in 125 liters of water and sprayed on the standing crop. This provides nutrients to the crops.
Nano DAP is a better option for providing sufficient nutrients to the crops. It has lower cost and more effect than traditional DAP. The cost of one bag of traditional DAP is about Rs 1350, while many acres of land can be benefited from one bottle of Nano DAP. It is sprayed directly on the plants through a spray, which leads to rapid absorption of nutrients.
In accordance with the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government is making sufficient storage of alternative fertilizers including Nano DAP as an alternative to DAP fertilizer for farmers in the committees. Training and awareness camps are also being organized for farmers to use it. The Agriculture Department has appealed to the farmers to use Nano DAP and alternative fertilizers like NPK, SSP.
