The monsoon season is gaining momentum across India, bringing with it the prospect of heavy rainfall in numerous regions. The weather department has issued alerts for the hill states of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir, anticipating rainfall over the next three days. Delhi is forecast to experience continuous rain from July 25th to July 30th. The minimum temperature in Delhi is expected to be 25 degrees Celsius and the maximum 36 degrees Celsius on Friday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heavy rainfall in states including Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Telangana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and the northeastern states. Heavy rainfall is expected in Odisha and West Bengal on July 25th. A heavy rainfall warning has been issued for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Bihar from July 25th to 28th, with the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and winds reaching 30-40 kmph.
Heavy rainfall is expected in the coastal areas of Karnataka on July 25th. Kerala is also expected to receive heavy rainfall between July 25th and 29th. Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh are likely to experience heavy rainfall from July 25th to 27th, with strong winds of 40-50 kmph.
Heavy rainfall is predicted for Goa, central Maharashtra, and Gujarat from July 25th to 30th. Marathwada is expected to see heavy rain on July 25th and 26th, while Saurashtra and Kutch can expect intense rainfall between July 26th and 29th.
Eastern Rajasthan and western Uttar Pradesh are likely to experience very heavy rainfall on July 27th and 28th. The mountainous regions of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir are expected to have rain from July 25th to 30th. Heavy rainfall warnings have also been issued for Punjab and Haryana on July 27th and 28th.
The northeastern region, including Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, and Tripura, will continue to experience thunderstorms, lightning, and moderate rainfall over the next five days. Very heavy rainfall is anticipated in these states on July 26th. The IMD warns that heavy rainfall will persist in different parts of the country over the coming days, potentially leading to flooding, landslides, and rising river levels in both hilly and plain regions.
