Historical Decision by the State Council of Ministers – Another Step Towards Industrial Revolution in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, May 14, 2025/Taking a major step towards making the state the next industrial and employment hub of the country, the Chhattisgarh government has approved several important amendments to the Industrial Development Policy 2024-30. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, which will give a new direction to the socio-economic landscape of the state in the coming years.

Priority to Local Youth – Increased Employment

As per the revised policy, companies that provide employment to the youth of Chhattisgarh will receive special grants from the government. This will accelerate the local employment rate and also curb migration.

    Institutional Support for Modern Farming

By including high-tech farming techniques like hydroponics and aeroponics in the industrial sector, farmers will be connected to technologies like modern equipment, automation, and information technology. This will increase the productivity and profitability of agriculture.

Incentives for Sports Training and Academies

Prioritizing sports and youth empowerment, the state government will encourage sports academies and private training centers. This will not only provide a platform for sports talents but also promote the development of the sports industry.

    Boost to Higher Education

There is a plan to develop Chhattisgarh as an educational hub by encouraging the establishment of quality universities. This will make excellent education opportunities available to the students of the state.

    Expansion of the Automobile Sector

Now, automobile repairing and service units will be recognized in every development block group. This will increase technical employment opportunities in rural areas as well.

New Flight for Tourism and Hotel Business

The minimum investment limit for the construction of hotels and resorts has been reduced in remote areas like Bastar and Sarguja. This will promote tourism in these areas and provide livelihood opportunities to local youth.

Double Incentive for the Textile Industry

Industries investing in the textile sector will receive incentives of up to 200%. This will provide more opportunities for women and rural artisans in employment such as sewing, knitting, and embroidery.

Chhattisgarh to Become a Logistics Hub

Under the new logistics policy, the transportation of goods will be made easier throughout the state. This will provide traders with reduced costs, time savings, and faster access to markets.

Special Benefits for Persons with Disabilities

By changing the definition of persons with disabilities, they will be included in more and more schemes. This is a commendable step by the government towards inclusive development.

Special Package for the Defense and Aerospace Sector

The state will now provide a special incentive package to attract investment in the Global Capability Center, Defense, and Aerospace industries.

Infrastructure Grant for Private Industrial Parks

Along with promoting “Plug and Play” factories, private industrial parks will receive incentives from the government for infrastructure development.

Promoting Ease of Living in the State

To promote ease of living in the state, private CBSE schools and mini malls (with multiplexes) will also be recognized as Thrust Sectors, especially in areas where these facilities are not available.

    Inclusive and Regionally Balanced Policy

This policy creates a suitable model for all regions of the state. This will reduce regional inequality.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that this revised policy is not only a means of economic growth but also an instrument of social justice, the future of youth, and the empowerment of farmers. He expressed confidence that in the coming years, Chhattisgarh will be among the top investment destinations in the country.
