The Vice President of the Mahasamund Municipality conducted an inspection of key infrastructure in the Nayapara area, including the Atal Awas, water tank, and community center. The inspection, accompanied by Municipal Officer Ashok Salame, aimed to assess the condition of these facilities and provide necessary instructions for their upkeep and improvement. The inspection team also included local BJP leaders and councilors, reflecting a collaborative approach to local governance.
The inspection of Atal Awas revealed concerns about cleanliness, with garbage accumulating in the streets and causing unpleasant odors. The Municipal Officer was directed to address these issues immediately. Additionally, consideration was given to utilizing the vacant spaces within the Atal Awas complex for community amenities such as a garden or an open gym. The Vice President also appealed to residents to actively participate in maintaining the cleanliness of their living environment.
The water tank inspection highlighted the need for urgent maintenance, including cleaning, which had been neglected for several years. The responsible staff was instructed to complete the cleaning within a week, with the CMO emphasizing the importance of regular maintenance of all water tanks in the city to ensure the provision of safe drinking water for the public. The community center, which had been closed for an extended period, was also reviewed. The Vice President suggested that the center could be repurposed to facilitate municipal services for the Nayapara area, such as tax collection, application processing, and other citizen services. The need for proper maintenance and renovation of the building was stressed.
During the inspection of the Sant Ravidas Garden, the team noted damage to the underground pipelines and deficiencies in the lighting system. The statue of Sant Ravidas also required maintenance.
