Lakshmi Rajwade, the Minister of Women and Child Development, recently visited the Seva Bharati Matru Chhaya Shishu Griha in the district, a special adoption agency. The visit involved meeting with the children residing there, learning about their current conditions, and understanding the services the agency provides. Minister Rajwade expressed that the children’s happiness serves as a major source of motivation, and underscored the collective responsibility everyone shares in ensuring their safety, health, and a promising future.
The minister acknowledged the organization’s contributions to child protection, nutrition, healthcare, education, and rehabilitation efforts. She remarked that adoption agencies are essential for generating positive societal change. Seva Bharati Matru Chhaya Shishu Griha, which is a registered special adoption agency, offers shelter, care, and secure adoption pathways for abandoned, orphaned, and vulnerable children. The institution tailors its nutrition, education, and health services to suit the age-specific needs of the children.
Minister Rajwade instructed officials to offer consistent technical and administrative aid to these institutions to boost the children’s quality of life. She also stated the state government’s ongoing commitment to streamlining the adoption process, making it more transparent, empathetic, and user-friendly. The inspection was attended by various officials from the Women and Child Development Department, members of the Child Protection Unit, the director of the institution, and other distinguished figures, who shared insights on the agency’s operations and present status.
