The Dhamtari district is dealing with a tragic case of murder stemming from an illicit relationship. A woman with two children is accused of murdering her husband after becoming pregnant by her boyfriend. The investigation, which unraveled the details of this heinous crime, was conducted by a team led by Konda Gaon SP Akshay Kumar and ASP Kaushalendra Dev Patel.
Police investigations revealed that the body of an unidentified man was found on June 30th in the forest of village Mageda under suspicious circumstances. The initial findings pointed to murder, leading to the registration of a case and the formation of a special investigation team. A prescription found in the deceased’s pants led investigators to Dharmveer, who had sought treatment at a Tamil Nadu hospital on June 27th. He was a resident of Nagari, Dhamtari. Hospital records showed that his friend, Videsh Markam, took him from the hospital on the pretext of further treatment on June 27th.
Instead of taking him to Nagari, he took him to Raygarh, Odisha. There, Markam bought a cricket bat and petrol and took the victim to a forest where he murdered him. The accused had plied the victim with alcohol.
As the suspects attempted to hide Dharmveer’s identity by burning the body, rainfall prevented complete destruction. The police found a partially burnt yellow anti-rabies hospital slip with the deceased’s name. Following the anti-rabies vaccine schedule card, the police contacted Dharampuri Hospital in Tamil Nadu.
Ravnina Nagarachi, the deceased’s wife, and her boyfriend, Videsh Markam, were arrested for the murder. Interrogation unveiled that Ravnina is 2.5 months pregnant by her boyfriend. She had two children with her husband. The deceased’s wife was in constant contact with her boyfriend. The police examined her mobile records and noted she spoke with her lover for hours before the crime. The accused lover changed his phone number. The Konda Gaon police have arrested both suspects.
