In Nava Raipur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the efforts of security forces, attributing the success against Naxalites to their bravery and hard work. He paid tribute to the valor and sacrifice of the Central security forces, COBRA teams, Chhattisgarh Police, and DRG. Shah expressed his confidence in the forces, stating that their dedication to dismantling Maoist strongholds has astonished the global security community. He announced the goal of eliminating Naxalism in India by March 31, 2026.
Shah pointed out the devastating impact of Naxalism on impoverished tribal regions, resulting in approximately 40,000 deaths or disabilities over 35 years. He emphasized that Naxal violence has prevented the provision of basic necessities such as food, electricity, education, and sanitation, while also impeding industrial growth in the area. He noted that the government is actively working to bring development, including essential services like food, healthcare, and education, to the areas once affected by Naxalism.
Shah believes that the end of Naxalism will be a monumental event, similar to India’s independence. He also launched a book in Nava Raipur that sheds light on the atrocities committed by Naxalites against tribal communities and the efforts to protect Bastar. The book aims to help readers understand the pain of those affected by Naxal violence and reveal those who support Naxalites under the guise of human rights.
