During a review meeting held in Godbahal, Pithora, Governor Raman Deka assessed the progress of ongoing development works and government schemes under the Aspirational Block program. He provided instructions to expedite the projects and ensure high-quality implementation. The Governor comprehensively reviewed departmental performance across various sectors including health, education, nutrition, agriculture, skill development, financial inclusion, and infrastructure. He directed departments to accelerate efforts to achieve over 90% of the targets for the Aspirational Block indicators. Governor Deka emphasized the importance of water conservation, mandating concrete steps for water harvesting in each village. He provided directives to expedite the construction of structures like dabri, soak pits, and injection wells to enhance rainwater collection and improve groundwater levels. He advocated for promoting animal husbandry as a significant source of rural livelihood, emphasizing its contribution to income and nutritional security. Discussions included fostering tourism by conserving local natural and cultural heritage to generate employment opportunities. The Governor focused on road safety, urging effective measures to prevent accidents and promote helmet and traffic rule awareness. He commended the efforts of women’s self-help groups and suggested expanding their economic activities, alongside strengthening banking services for increased financial inclusion in rural areas. Addressing health and nutrition, he instructed the identification and continuous monitoring of malnourished children, and the integration of the Nutrition Tracker. He called for data synchronization between Mitanin, Women and Child Development, and Health departments. He also instructed for regular teacher training, including specialized training at the state and district levels. The Governor instructed officials to assess the ground-level implementation of schemes and to gather feedback from beneficiaries. He also called for everyone to plant trees and inspire others as part of the ‘A Tree for Mother’ campaign, and directed for the plantation of saplings in all government offices.
