A family gathering in Korba, Chhattisgarh, took a deadly turn after a chicken party. Shortly after eating the meal, family members began experiencing severe illness, including vomiting and diarrhea. The mother-in-law and her son-in-law died while receiving medical attention. Three other individuals are currently in serious condition. The event took place in Korkoma village, under the jurisdiction of the Rajgamar police station. The feast was arranged to celebrate the arrival of the son-in-law. Preliminary investigations point to food poisoning as the cause. It’s also suspected that the alcohol served may have been tainted. The house of 60-year-old Rajmeen Bai in Shivnagar Chauhan Para was the site of the gathering. Devsingh, the son-in-law, came with his wife, Chamel, from Bhaisama Dadarkala on Thursday. Rajmeen Bai, her son Rajkumar, and a neighbor, Rajaraj, organized the chicken party. The mother-in-law was the first to fall ill, followed by the son-in-law. Both succumbed to their illness during treatment, and the others remain in a critical state.
Separately, in Uttar Pradesh, around 30 people fell ill after eating chaat from a street vendor in Bijnor. They were admitted to a local health center due to symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea.
