Raipur, the district administration-police and especially the efforts and understanding of some brave youths, the fire that broke out in the Babylon Tower of the capital last night, was brought under control without any loss of life. The heroes of this rescue operation were honored today by Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh and SSP Dr. Lal Umed Singh.
It is noteworthy that as soon as the information about the fire in Babylon Tower was received, Chief Minister Shri Sai had directed the district administration to immediately conduct relief and rescue operations. The Chief Minister had specifically instructed the administration to take special care that there should be no loss of life in this fire accident. During that time, Municipal Commissioner Shri Vishwadeep, District Panchayat CEO Shri Kumar Biswaranjan, ADM Shri Umashankar Bande, SDM Shri Nandkumar Chaubey, District Commander Officer Shri Pushparaj Singh, Telibandha Police Station TI and administrative staff and SDRF team were engaged in extinguishing the fire. The rescue team took a disabled person out of the fire site in their lap.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, first SDM Shri Nandkumar Chaubey and District Commander Shri Pushparaj Singh reached the spot. Seeing the circumstances, both of them reached the 7th floor with the team and explained to the people present not to panic and told them the way to get out of the stairs while taking precautions, so that everyone came out safely.
Shri Somesh and other youths did not care for their lives, saved lives
Shri Somesh Sao told that his friend called and informed about the arson and asked for help, he reached the spot within 10 minutes. Reaching there, he collected the fire equipment present in the basement and kept extinguishing the fire on all the floors while climbing the stairs. He, a municipal corporation employee, Shri A. Venugopal, who was in the fire brigade, asked those youths to use wet cloth as a mask. After some time, Shri Somesh, Shri A. Venugopal reached the place where the fire broke out and helped in taking out the people trapped with the team.
