A tragic accident involving a passenger bus traveling from Raipur to Jagdalpur occurred early Monday morning near Jagdalpur in the Bastar division. The bus, operated by Manish Travels, collided with a truck near the Majisa petrol pump in the Bastar police station area. The impact of the collision caused the deaths of the bus driver and a female helper. Numerous passengers were injured in the accident. Authorities suspect the driver may have dozed off, contributing to the crash. Upon receiving information about the accident, the Bastar police promptly arrived at the site and launched a rescue operation. Around 30 passengers were on the bus when the accident happened. While all passengers survived, the bus driver, Satyendra Singh, aged 35 and from Durg, and the helper, Pushpa, aged 20 and from Bijapur, were killed. The front portion of the bus was extensively damaged. Rescue workers had to use cutters to extract the driver, but they were unable to save either the driver or the helper.
