The cardiology department recorded a victory over 100% blockage of the heart, successful angioplasty of the patient in ACI
Aci becomes a trusted center for heart disease treatment, patients are reaching for treatment from neighboring states as well
Raipur, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital located Advanced Cardiac Institute (ACI) is now becoming a lifesaver not only for Chhattisgarh but also for the patients of neighboring states. Recently, successful angioplasty of four 100% blocked veins of a 60-year-old patient from Madhya Pradesh was performed in the cardiology department of ACI.
According to the patient’s family, the patient was living on medicines for a long time. Many big hospitals of Madhya Pradesh had refused to do angioplasty. Meanwhile, he came to know from a close relative that a successful treatment of a complex heart disease of a patient was done in ACI some years ago. With this trust, he reached Raipur. The patient himself, while narrating his experience, says that when the doctors of many big hospitals had said that treatment was not possible there, ACI came with great hope. We had also told the doctor that whatever risk it may be, you prepare for the treatment, I am mentally fully prepared for it. Finally, the doctors here gave me a new lease of life.
In this procedure, which was led by Dr. Smit Srivastava, head of cardiology department, the blocked veins of the patient were opened through right femoral angioplasty. At present the patient is completely healthy and will be discharged soon.
Dr. Srivastava told that a successful laser angioplasty of a patient from Madhya Pradesh was also done five years ago. This time also, preparations were made for laser considering the severe blockage, but fortunately, successful results were obtained with normal angioplasty. Dean Dr. Vivek Chaudhary directed the department to perform angioplasty as soon as possible, considering the condition of the patient.
