Bilaspur: In Chhattisgarh, the Excise Department has taken strict action against illegal liquor construction under the instructions of the first Collector Avnish Kumar Sharan of Urban Body Elections 2025 and under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner Excise Navneet Tiwari.
The excise team raided Kanchanpur (Thana Takhatpur) and Guniyari (Thana Kota). Action was taken under the leadership of Assistant District Excise Officer Kalpana Rathore on the information of illegal mahua liquor construction on the banks of Guniyari pond and temple. During this period 307 bulk liter Mahua liquor and 8700 kg Mahua Lahan were seized.
22 liters of Mahua liquor was recovered from the main accused Karan Singh (Kanchanpur), while 285 liters of Mahua liquor was seized in an unclaimed condition. 8700 kg Mahua Lahan filled in plastic sacks was destroyed on the spot. A case was registered against unknown persons under 34 (1) (a) (f) and 34 (2) and produced in the court. Assistant District Excise Officer Kalpana Rathore and his team played an important role in this action.
