A disturbing case has emerged in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, where a disabled man was murdered, and his body was disposed of in a macabre manner. The victim was killed over a land dispute and the non-payment of funds. The body was wrapped in cement, placed in a suitcase, and then in a steel trunk before being discarded. Police investigations led to the arrest of the victim’s wife, who was involved in the conspiracy. The investigation started after a body was discovered in DD Nagar, Raipur. CCTV footage revealed a couple, identified as Ankit Upadhyay, a lawyer, and his wife. The investigation indicated that they had planned the murder due to a land brokerage dispute involving Kishore Divyang Pakra. According to Raipur SSP Lal Umed Singh, initial inquiries confirmed the involvement of Ankit and his wife. The wife was identified through CCTV footage from the area where Pakra’s body was found. The footage showed a car entering the area on Monday, with the occupants opening the trunk to remove the trunk containing the body. A woman on a scooter followed the car. The deceased, Pakra, relied on a wheelchair for mobility. He sold a plot with Ankit’s help, but received less than the agreed amount. When Pakra demanded the remainder of the payment, Ankit, who was involved in the brokerage, was threatened with a police report. Ankit then murdered Pakra, concealed the body, and disposed of it with his wife. The couple has been arrested and taken into custody.
