Raipur, June 4, 2025/ According to the guidelines of the state government, the counseling process of 4456 surplus assistant teachers, head teachers and lecturers of 16 districts of the state has been completed. So far, new postings have been issued to more than 4456 teachers. Counseling has been completed in Korba, Sukma, Mahasamund, Gariaband, Balodabazar, Manendragarh-Chirimiri-Bharatpur, Sakti, Jashpur, Korba, Mungeli,
Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Balod, Bijapur and Surajpur. Counseling of surplus teachers was done on the basis of seniority. The counseling process is going on in the remaining districts. In the counseling process, the teachers selected the schools of their choice from the vacant places.
Out of a total of 10,463 schools in the state, only 166 schools will be adjusted. Out of these 166 schools, there are 133 schools in rural areas, in which the number of students is less than 10 and another school is running within a kilometer. Similarly, there are 33 such schools in urban areas, in which the registered number is less than 30 and another school is running within a radius of 500 meters. For this reason, 166 schools are being adjusted with the aim of better education, this will not affect the studies of the children in any situation. The remaining 10,297 schools will remain fully operational. Necessary adjustments are being made only at the administrative and academic level. The use of school buildings will continue as before and teachers will also be available where needed.
In fact, the Chhattisgarh government is rationalizing schools and teachers to improve the quality of education in urban and rural areas of the state. Its objective is to ensure better use of resources and teachers where the need is greater. Those schools which are not able to provide proper education due to fewer students, should be adjusted with the nearby good schools, so that children can get a better environment, resources and equal opportunities for studies. This will enable children to get more qualified and subject-wise expert teachers. Facilities like library, lab, computer etc. will be available in schools. Now sufficient teachers will be available in the schools with shortage of teachers. Those schools which had only a few students earlier, will now be able to get better education by going to the nearby good schools. The standard of education will improve with this change in both rural and urban areas.
The government’s intention is clear, every child should get good and quality education. This is the reason why the government is ensuring that the deployment of teachers is not only based on numbers but also on the basis of need. The Chhattisgarh Education Department believes that this step is not just an administrative reform, but a concrete change in the field of education, which will provide a strong foundation for the coming generation.
