In the state, consumers of solar energy are now not only energy producers but also energy providers. Through ambitious initiatives like the PM Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana, the state is moving towards achieving the goal of clean energy at a fast pace. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said this while addressing the solar energy awareness and promotion campaign organized at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur today.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai flagged off the Surya Rath to provide information and make people aware about the benefits of solar energy, the PM Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana and the subsidy received under it. Along with this, the Chief Minister online transferred a total of Rs 1.85 crore of state share subsidy at the rate of Rs 30,000 each to the accounts of 618 consumers.
The Chief Minister said that climate change and increasing pollution are a matter of serious concern for all of us. He said that it is our good fortune that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has set a target of net-zero carbon emissions by the year 2070 and Chhattisgarh is playing its role with full dedication and capacity in achieving this target.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that while promoting solar energy in the state, work is being done to move from half electricity bill to free electricity. He said that it is a matter of joy that the people of the state, understanding the importance of this scheme, are moving towards adopting clean energy. The Chief Minister urged the general public to connect the people around them with this scheme as well and contribute to making the state move forward in the direction of clean energy.
The Chief Minister informed that the central and state governments are providing subsidy to the consumers. Along with this, easy financial facility is also being provided through the banking system. He said that in the coming time, consumers will get the benefit of free electricity in full. The Chief Minister also informed that Letter of Award has been given to the beneficiaries today under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana. Through these schemes, consumers themselves are producing solar energy and selling electricity and are also getting the benefit of cheap electricity.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that in the year 2014, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had resolved to provide electricity to every household through the Saubhagya Yojana. At that time, 18 thousand villages of the country were in darkness and today electricity has reached all those villages. He said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the country is now moving rapidly towards clean and green energy.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that in the year 2000, the electricity generation capacity in Chhattisgarh was only 1,400 MW, while today the state is producing 30,000 MW and is also providing electricity to the neighboring states. He informed that under the new industrial policy, MOUs worth Rs 3.50 lakh crore have been signed in the energy sector and in the coming time, the energy production capacity of the state will increase further.
Chief Minister Shri Sai expressed confidence that under the कुशल guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Chhattisgarh will become the leading state in the country in the field of energy production. He appealed to all the citizens to take advantage of the PM Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana and play their active role in achieving the goal of clean energy.
In the program, Shri Pratham Soni, a class 12th student from Rajnandgaon, presented his views on the characteristics of solar energy and the efforts being made by the government to promote it. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released ‘Impact of Distributed Renewable Energy on Grid Stability’ and ‘Agrivoltaics Performer Handbook’.
On this occasion, outstanding vendors who played a special role in the implementation of PM Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana were also honored.
MLA Shri Motilal Sahu, MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, CREDA Chairman Shri Bhupendra Savanni, Energy Department Secretary Dr. Rohit Yadav, CREDA CEO Shri Rajesh Rana, President of Indian Solar Energy Federation Shri Suman Kumar, Managing Directors of all three power companies along with a large number of solar energy consumers were present in the program.
