CM Sai Commemorates Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Credits Him for Chhattisgarh’s Foundation

On the occasion of the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai honored the leader’s legacy, specifically acknowledging his pivotal role in establishing the state of Chhattisgarh. At a commemorative event in Raipur, Sai underscored that the very identity of Chhattisgarh stems from Vajpayee’s vision. He reminisced about Vajpayee’s multifaceted personality, encompassing journalism, poetry, and statesmanship, emphasizing the impact of his speeches. Sai noted the commencement of a 25-week celebration, marking the silver jubilee of Chhattisgarh’s formation, viewing it as a direct result of Vajpayee’s contributions. He declared the current year as ‘Atal Nirman Varsh,’ including a special budget allocation dedicated to accelerating infrastructure development. The Chief Minister emphasized that Chhattisgarh is advancing towards the goals that Vajpayee had set for its creation and presented the Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision-2047 roadmap as a strategy for achieving developed-state status in the upcoming quarter-century. Sharing personal recollections, Sai spoke of his privilege of having heard Vajpayee’s speeches in Parliament during his term as a Member of Parliament. He recalled the anticipation for Vajpayee’s speeches, emphasizing his charismatic approach and skill in articulating his views. Sai mentioned witnessing the parliamentary debates concerning Chhattisgarh’s formation. He highlighted Vajpayee’s focus on principles and ethical conduct in politics, recognizing it as a means of dialogue, agreement, and empathy. The Chief Minister concluded by stating that Vajpayee’s legacy continues to drive progress and inspire development.
