Claim payment of Rs 152.84 crore to 141879 farmers of Chhattisgarh
Direct transfer of claims of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana to the accounts of eligible insured farmers on August 11
Raipur, August 10, 2025/ Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, a total claim amount of Rs 152 crore 84 lakh 62 thousand will be paid to one lakh 41 thousand 879 eligible insured farmers of Chhattisgarh state through nationwide direct benefit transfer (DBT). This includes claim payments of Rs 10 crore 25 lakh 97 thousand to 33 thousand 943 eligible farmers of Kharif season 2024 and Rs 142 crore 58 lakh 65 thousand to one lakh 7 thousand 936 eligible farmers of Rabi season 2024-25.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, this payment will be made on August 11, 2025 (Monday) in a program organized in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, under the chairmanship of Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, through a nationwide direct benefit transfer based automated system. On this occasion, the Chief Guest of the program will be the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Bhajanlal Sharma. Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Bhagirath Choudhary, Minister of Agriculture of Rajasthan Dr. Kirodilal Meena will be the special guests in the program.
The program will start at 12 noon. Necessary arrangements have been made at the district level at the office of Deputy Director of Agriculture and at the block level at the office of Senior Agriculture Development Officer to include eligible insured farmers of Chhattisgarh in the program through virtual mode, so that more and more beneficiary farmers can become a part of it.
The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh government said on this occasion that the economic security of farmers is our top priority. Effective programs like Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana are playing an important role in saving farmers from natural calamities and crop losses. This claim payment will further strengthen the trust and self-reliance of our farmers. Our government is committed to taking the agriculture of the state to new heights through making farming profitable, expansion of irrigation facilities, promotion of modern technology and crop diversification.
