Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that the health of the three crore people of Chhattisgarh is the top priority of the state government. He assured that financial resources will never be a barrier in providing health facilities to the people of the state. Chief Minister Shri Sai was addressing the experts and the audience at the inauguration of the two-day event of ‘Aerocon 2025’ Chhattisgarh-Madhya Pradesh Chapter at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Auditorium, Raipur today. On this occasion, he announced the construction of a new hostel for the students of Medical College Raipur at a cost of Rs 65 crore.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that thousands of patients struggling with serious diseases like cancer are getting rejuvenated today due to the hard work of expert doctors and the latest medical methods. He said that research in the field of early detection and treatment of cancer in the last two decades has created new hopes for the future. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, cancer day-care centers are being established in every district and Chhattisgarh is also moving forward rapidly in this direction.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that under the Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme, treatment of many patients has been possible in the state. The reduction in the prices of cancer medicines and equipment in GST has brought great relief to the patients. Shri Sai said that state-of-the-art equipment is being provided for cancer treatment in the hospitals of the state and the robotic surgery system is being launched in AIIMS Raipur today, which proves that government hospitals are at the forefront in adopting the latest technology. He said that artificial intelligence (AI) is proving to be very useful in the identification of cancer and the state government is rapidly including it in health services.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the government is continuously increasing the health budget and opening new medical colleges. He said that a medicity with a capacity of 5,000 beds is being constructed in Nava Raipur. The government is working on every option for the expansion of health facilities in remote areas like Bastar and Sarguja. He said that new hospitals will be established in Sarguja, Dharamjaygarh and Bastar. He expressed confidence that the Aerocon 2025 conference will prove to be a milestone in the direction of cancer prevention and treatment.
Addressing the program, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that in the seventh edition of Aerocon 2025, experts from various fields related to cancer treatment have come on one platform. This will open up new dimensions in the treatment of this disease. He said that Mekahara Hospital located in Raipur is a major treatment center not only for Chhattisgarh but also for patients from other states of Central India. In the future, medical services here will be further strengthened through advanced technologies and machines.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that Medical College Raipur is the largest cancer center in the state, where state-of-the-art facilities are being provided. He informed that in the coming time, six physiotherapy colleges will be established in the state, super specialty hospitals will be started in Bastar and Sarguja, separate hospitals and naturopathy colleges will be opened for mental patients. 700 beds will be increased in Mekahara at a cost of Rs 232 crore and the latest facilities like robotic surgery and IVF center will be provided.
On this occasion, MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, Dean of Medical College Raipur Dr. Vivek Chaudhary, Vice Chancellor of Ayush University Prof. P.K. Patra, expert doctors, students and dignitaries were present in large numbers.
