Raipur, September 1, 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today conducted an aerial survey and ground inspection of Dantewada and Bastar districts of Bastar division affected by floods. He directly observed the situation of the affected areas and took information about the progress of relief and rehabilitation works. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that reaching assistance to every family affected by the flood on time is the top priority of the state government and sensitivity and promptness at all levels are necessary for this.
Chief Minister Shri Sai reached the temporary relief camp set up at Churitikra Para of Dantewada, where he met the flood affected families and listened to their problems. The Chief Minister said that the government stands with every affected family. He directed the administration to ensure that there is a continuous supply of adequate food, clean drinking water and safe accommodation in the camps. He said that immediate assistance should be provided to all the people affected by the flood and their rehabilitation work should be done expeditiously on priority basis.
The Chief Minister also directed the officials that along with all the necessary arrangements in the relief camps, essential materials like ration, utensils and clothes should also be provided to the affected families in sufficient quantity. He directed the flood victims to provide assistance amount in time for the repair of houses or construction of new houses as per their requirement. Shri Sai directed the Collector and Revenue Department officials to quickly assess the crop damage, loss of livestock and other damages caused by the flood and provide assistance to the affected people.
Chief Minister Shri Sai also inspected the bridge damaged by the flood and assessed the traffic system and the status of reconstruction works in the area. He directed the officials to ensure the early restoration of basic facilities like roads, electricity and drinking water in the affected villages. He made it clear that no negligence of any kind will be tolerated in relief and rehabilitation works. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that natural disasters like floods certainly bring difficulties, but timely solution of these difficulties is possible with administrative promptness and public cooperation. He also directed the officials to take special care of children, women and the elderly in the relief camps and affected villages and to give priority to the necessary facilities related to health and education.
The Chief Minister took stock of the health camp
Chief Minister Shri Sai inspected the health camp set up here. He took information from the medical team about the availability of medicines, deployment of doctors and the primary health services being provided to the patients. The Chief Minister also directly interacted with the affected families and asked whether they are satisfied with the help of the administration. The affected people expressed satisfaction with the prompt cooperation of the district administration.
Shri Sai took detailed information from the officers present about the health check-up of the flood victims, treatment of the sick and availability of essential medicines. The Chief Minister directed to provide regular health services to the flood victims in the camp till the situation becomes normal. He directed to keep a continuous vigil on the probable vomiting-diarrhea and other waterborne seasonal diseases after the flood and to compulsorily chlorinate the drinking water sources for prevention.
Chief Minister Shri Sai emphasized on making the general public aware of using pure drinking water, maintaining hygiene and cleanliness. He also directed the officials of the Urban Administration Department to ensure regular cleaning in the affected wards.
